COVID-19: Two men arrested for stocking N-95 mask and Hand Sanitizers in Mumbai

Crime branch authorities on Tuesday held onto the load of N-95 mask, which are sought after, and hand sanitiser on the whole worth Rs 27.63 lakh from a godown in rural Goregaon in Mumbai and caught two people, police said.

The held onto stock was decided to be sold at high rates in black market, an authority said. “On a particular data, unit-12 of the wrongdoing branch attacked a godown at Motilal Nagar in Goregaon (West) in which they discovered N-95 mask and hand sanitiser supplied,” he said.

The seizure involved 9950 bits of N-95 covers worth Rs 24.87 lakh and 181 liters of hand sanitiser which is esteemed at Rs 2.75 lakh, the authority stated, including that further examination is underway.

The interest for the defensive covers and other such rigging has spiked taking into account the flare-up of coronavirus. The captured men have been distinguished as Farhan Hussain Roshan Ali Patel (45) and Amir Hussain Zafri (27), the two inhabitants of Oshiwara.

They have been arrested under diffrect sections of the Essential Commodities Act and section 51 of the Disaster Management Act,the official said.
