TMC to show its strength today

Today, one of the most powerful parties in the proposed anti-BJP front Trinamool Congress is set to show its strength in the state where it has been ruling for nearly a decade. It is scheduled to organise a huge rally at Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata. Several political leaders are expected to participate in the rally. JD(S) leader H D Deve Gowda, SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav, NCP chief Sharad Pawar are some of them. The presence of these many leaders is expected to strengthen the position of the party in the state as well as in the centre.

Kolkata is almost set for the big event. The atmosphere of joy and happiness (akin to the atmosphere of festival) prevails in and around the capital city of West Bengal.

Tens of thousands of people from different parts of the state are expected to reach the venue. The security has been beefed up in and around the venue ahead of the event. As many as 10,000 additional security personals have been deployed in the region.

It is the first time the TMC has made this much loud appeal. Many evaluate the development as the clear indication of her interest to become the face of the proposed anti-BJP front.
