Writer Kancha Ilaiah booked under Section 153A IPC

The controversial writer, Kancha Ilaiah, has been booked under the Section 153A of Indian Penal Code, as his book, ‘Komatollu Samajika Smagglarlu’, has triggered a huge controversy, protest and dissatisfaction among a certain section of the society due to its, so-called, offensive content.

The section 153 A of IPC is normally registered in those cases which are related to the issue of ‘promoting enmity among different groups based on religion, place and through other means’.

As per the report, the arrest has been made on the basis of complaints filed by several protesters.

It is said that there are some condemnable statements about the Vysya community in the book.

It is learned that the concerned authorities are likely to take initiative to ban the book.

While speaking to the media personals, a senior police official has claimed that the authority would study whether there is a need to impose a strict ban on the book.
