One more airline to start direct flight from kochi to Malaysia

Lion Air YH531 4368 (MIL) 737-900 Paint Roll OutMalindo Air, a low cost-full service hybrid airline of Malaysia is going to start its Kochi-Kuala Lumpur service on April 15.  Malindo will be the third airline to have direct daily flight to KL.   At present Malaysian airlines and Air Asia are operating daily flights to the far eastern travel hub offering around 2400 seats weekly.

Malindo would be operating its brand new 180 seater B737-900ER aircraft providing luxurious free in-flight entertainment at all seats. This is the most modern Boeing aircraft in narrow body category. It will have 12 business class seats.  The flight with series no. OD 231 will arrive Kochi daily at 22.35 and depart as OD 232 at 23.15. The summer schedule will continue upto 25th October 2014.

At present, Air Asia, the low cost Malaysian carrier operates daily direct flight to KL offering 180 budget seats. It will add on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday extra services from March last week. As per the winter schedule, Air Asia flight arrives at 10.30 pm and departs at 11.30, while the Malaysian airline arrives Kochi at 12 midnight and departs at 12.50 offering 170 seats daily. With the inception of Malindo, Kochi International Airport will have 19 airlines operating daily flights in international routes.
