Nainital Lake water withdrawal limit cut to 8 million litres per day

uk5The Nainital district administration has determined to depreciate the withdrawal limit from the Nainital lake to eight million litres water per day (MLD). Which ensures, there would be a balanced water level in the lake. There should be a balance between water recharge and water withdrawal. Stated Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan officially. The demand however for water in winter is comparatively less, he added.

The decision by Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan executive engineer Sunil Tiwari was affirmed after assessing the water requirement in the coming months and took effective methods to save the water level from its further drop down.
