Great victory for Netanyahu – Unique Times

Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party has scored a resounding victory in Israel’s election. With all the votes counted, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s ruling Likud party had swept to election victory. The outcome gave Mr. Netanyahu a very strong pillar in forming a right-wing coalition government. By this, he becomes Israel’s longest serving prime minister. Likud party has won 30 seats among 120 parliament seats and the opposition Zionist union party led by Yitzhak Herzog won 24 seats. Speaking to the reporters, Herzog said that he called by Mr. Netanyahu and congratulated him for the victory. He has also quoted that –“Nothing has changed; we will keep fighting for a just society”. Mr. Netanyahu has described the vote result as a “great victory” for his party. He had also vowed not to lead the creation of a Palestinian state, while the Zionist Union expressed an interest to support for a two-state relationship and have promised to build up a relation with Palestinians and the international community.
