Zoho Invests ₹70 Crore in ONDC to Boost MSME Digitisation
Software-as-a-service giant Zoho has invested ₹70 crore in the government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), reinforcing its commitment to building sovereign and inclusive digital technology in India. The Chennai-headquartered company said the investment aims to support MSMEs by improving accessibility to digital commerce and expanding market opportunities through open network infrastructure.
Sivaramakrishnan Iswaran, CEO of Zoho Payment Technologies and Global Head of Finance and Operations BU at Zoho, said MSMEs form the backbone of India’s economy but continue to face barriers such as limited market access and platform-related structural constraints. He noted that ONDC enables businesses to reach wider customer bases and achieve sustainable growth while aligning with Zoho’s philosophy of creating accessible and flexible sovereign technology solutions.
Zoho added that its finance and commerce applications, including Vikra, Zoho ERP, Zoho Books, Zoho Inventory, and Zoho Commerce, are already helping MSMEs digitise operations and connect with customers through the ONDC network. Incorporated in December 2021 under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), ONDC has enabled 218 million transactions in FY26 and continues to expand its open digital commerce infrastructure across India.
