Zerodha CEO Nithin Kamath Builds AI Agent to Combat Spam Emails

Nithin Kamath has created a personal AI-powered tool to manage spam emails, demonstrating how artificial intelligence is transitioning from experimentation to practical use in daily workflows. Using Google Studio, Kamath designed a small workflow that identifies and filters spam messages, saving him roughly 30 minutes each day and showcasing the efficiency of accessible AI solutions for routine tasks.

Kamath also highlighted the rapid evolution of Large Language Models (LLMs), which have improved dramatically since 2023. Even Linus Torvalds, known for his skepticism toward overhyped technologies, has acknowledged that modern LLMs can generate code on par with or superior to humans. This marks a significant shift in the tech landscape, where AI is becoming a credible tool for coding, automation, and productivity.

Beyond professional use, Kamath noted the democratization of technology, citing examples of non-programmers building functional software and websites using LLMs. As coding becomes increasingly intuitive, the industry is moving toward a future where programming languages may be less relevant, and natural language — plain English — could become the primary interface for creating software.
