Young model commits suicide again in Kolkata; Fourth suicide in two weeks, Investigation on process

Model Suicide in Bengal again. Eighteen-year-old Saraswati Das was found dead at her residence in Kolkata. The make-up artist and model was found hanging at her residence in Kasba Bediadanka, Kolkata. Saraswati is the fourth model to commit suicide in Kolkata in two weeks.

Saraswati hanged herself in a dupatta. Police have registered a case of unnatural death. A senior Kolkata police official told the media that suicide was the initial assessment and other possibilities would be investigated in detail. Saraswati was a rising star in the modeling industry.

Grandmother was the first to see Saraswati hanging. The family rushed her to the hospital but she was not alive. Police said they will continue to investigate whether the models are dying and whether there is a connection to it. Saraswati’s mobile phone has been taken into police custody. It will perform a detailed forensic examination. Police are also investigating their involvement in social media.

Suicide in close proximity to models is also being discussed on social media. There is a growing need for the police to conduct a strong investigation. Kolkata police said there was no apparent reason behind the suicides but would conduct a strong investigation.
