West Bengal CM likely to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah later today. Though he has termed it as a normal ‘government to government’ meeting, many have called it as an attempt to save his close supporter who is under the scanner of the Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with a serious corruption case.

At present, the Bengal CM is in Delhi for a three day ‘government to government’ visit.

She last day met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi several urgent matters concerning his state.

The BJP is in a stage of growth in West Bengal. In the previous General Election, it showed an astounding performance against the Mamata-led-TMC – the party which rules the state. During the election, the main opposition it faced in the state against its triumph was from the TMC.

The state is going to witness a crucial Assembly Election in the near future. For that reason, the latest visit is of greater significance.

At this moment, it is unclear how the visit will impact the prospects of winning of both the BJP and the TMC in the state in the upcoming election.

In this juncture, both the BJP and the TMC stand good chance to win the seat of power in the upcoming election.
