West Asia Conflict Forces Suspension of Indian International Flights
Indian airlines have suspended several international flights due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded at domestic airports. Airlines including Air India and IndiGo have either accommodated passengers in hotels or assisted them with alternate flights to ensure safety and continuity of travel.
Passengers expressed frustration over lack of information and arrangements, particularly at Delhi Airport’s Terminal 3, where some had to wait for hours. Journalists and travelers highlighted personal challenges, including medical needs and urgent travel schedules disrupted by cancellations.
Airlines advised travelers to check schedules carefully and indicated that flights to North America and Europe will follow alternative routings, which may increase travel times. Air India specifically noted that flights to New York will include technical stops at Rome, while other affected routes are being adjusted in line with evolving airspace restrictions.
