Varun Dhawan said David Dhawan is’recovering well’ after being hospitalised for a week
David Dhawan, a veteran filmmaker, was recently taken to a Mumbai hospital. The 70-year-old director has returned to his hometown. Following concerns that David’s health had unexpectedly deteriorated due to diabetes, David’s son, actor Varun Dhawan, gave a health update regarding his father with a media on Friday. The director has diabetes and has previously been admitted to the hospital for the same reason.
“People love my Dad and we’ve got him back home now. It’s tough to work when your father is not well, but my father will always want me to complete my commitments. He’s recovering well at home now,” Varun told The Times of India.
“David was transported to the hospital as his health abruptly deteriorated due to diabetes,” a source told indianexpress.com. He is presently on medicine and healing at home.”
According to sources, David Dhawan was brought to a hospital in the city last week, at the same time Varun was filming in Europe with Janhvi Kapoor for Nitesh Tiwari’s Bawaal. While David was in the hospital, his wife Laali Dhawan took care of him during the day, and Varun and his brother Rohit spent the nights with him. Varun had earlier shared a video with David performing the hook step of The Punjaabban song from the actor’s upcoming film Jugjugg Jeeyo.
