Tokyo Olympics Boxing: Lovlina Borgohain wins bronze in boxing

India’s Lovlina Borgohain returns with a bronze medal in the Olympics. In the women’s boxing 69 kg category semifinals, world number one Busenas of Turkey defeated Lovelina.

In all three rounds, Busanes had a clear advantage. This is India’s third medal at the Tokyo Olympics. Earlier, Mirabai Chanu won silver in weightlifting and PV Sindhu won bronze in badminton.

Lovlina Borgohain would have become the first Indian boxer to reach the Olympic boxing final if she had beaten Busanese. Vijender Singh won bronze in 2008 and Mary Kom won bronze in 2012.
