Suriya ventures into Bollywood with Akshay Kumar’s Soorarai Pottru remake
Suriya sought his fans’ blessings and support on Monday as he made his Bollywood debut with a remake of his hit film Soorarai Pottru. His production company, 2D Entertainment, will finance the film, which will star Bollywood star Akshay Kumar.
“A fresh start… He tweeted, “Need all your love and blessings!!” while sharing his photos with Akshay.
Akshay had also announced the start of filming for the project, which has yet to be given a title, earlier in the day.”With the auspicious breaking of a coconut and a small prayer in our hearts, we begin filming of our yet-to-be-titled film about dreams and their power.” If you have any title suggestions, please share them with me, and best wishes,” he wrote on Twitter.
Sudha Kongara, who directed Soorarai Pottru, will also direct the Hindi remake. Captain GR Gopinath’s fascinating entrepreneurial journey, in which he democratised air travel by introducing low-cost airline services, inspired her to write the film.
Due to the pandemic, the film was released directly on Amazon Prime Video in 2020. The film received overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. The Hindi remake, on the other hand, will be released in theatres. Suriya’s most recent film was Etharkkum Thunindhavan, directed by Pandiraj. He’s also getting ready to star in director Vetrimaran’s next film, Vaadivaasal, which is based on the Tamil Nadu bull-taming tradition.
