Sudha Murthy Prays For Son-In-Law Rishi Sunak At Maharashtra Temple
At a temple in the coastal Maharashtra district of Sindhudurg, writer and philanthropist Sudha Murthy prayed on Wednesday for the health of her son-in-law and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
Sudha Murthy visited the Durga Devi temple in Baparde hamlet the following morning after travelling around 500 kilometres from Mumbai to reach the Devgad tehsil of the district. In a video that quickly became popular on social media, the temple priest was seen asking Goddess Durga for blessings on behalf of Ms. Murthy’s son-in-law, who recently became the first person of Indian descent to hold the office of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
Ms. Murthy also spoke with students at the Yashwantrao Rane Higher Secondary School in Baparde during her visit.The wife of Infosys founder and billionaire businessman Narayan Murthy, Sudha Murthy, sparked outrage earlier this week when a video surfaced showing her bowing down to controversial right-wing leader Sambhaji Bhide.
