Speaker instructed to elect Prime Minister in Lanka

Proposal to nominate a Prime Minister in Lanka. Acting Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe instructed the Speaker. Ranil Wickramasinghe suggested that a person acceptable to both sides should be suggested. Unprepared to announce his resignation, President Gotabaya Rajapakse has left the country and the people have started rioting again in Lanka.

Gotabaya crossed to the Maldives on a military flight at two in the morning. He is also survived by his wife Yoma Rajapakse and brother Basil Rajapakse. They are currently staying in a five-star hotel in Mali and will reportedly go to another country. As soon as the news broke, people stormed the Prime Minister’s office in Colombo. A state of emergency has been declared in the country.
