Shruti Shibulal Increases Infosys Stake with ₹469 Crore Share Purchase

Shruti Shibulal, a promoter of Infosys and daughter of co-founder SD Shibulal, has further increased her stake in the IT giant by acquiring shares worth ₹469 crore in an open market transaction on Wednesday. According to NSE data, she purchased 2.98 million shares at an average price of ₹1,574 per share, with Gaurav Manchanda, another family member of SD Shibulal, selling the same number of shares at the same price. This follows her earlier purchase of ₹494 crore worth of Infosys shares on Tuesday.
Despite the block deal, Infosys shares saw a slight decline on Thursday, dropping 0.73 per cent to ₹1,579.30 per share in morning trade. The stock continued to slide, trading at ₹1,576.45 by noon, marking a 0.91 per cent fall for the day. Shibulal, who held a 0.07 per cent stake in Infosys as of the December quarter, appears to be strengthening her investment in the company amid market fluctuations.
Infosys, India’s second-largest IT services provider, reported an 11.4 per cent year-on-year increase in net profit for Q3 FY25, reaching ₹6,806 crore. Revenue for the quarter grew 7.6 per cent year-on-year to ₹41,764 crore, driven by increased demand from US-based clients. The company also secured order bookings worth $2.5 billion. Shibulal’s recent acquisitions signal her confidence in Infosys’ long-term growth prospects despite short-term stock volatility.
