Samsung Pledges Privacy-First AI Strategy, Highlights Security Collaboration at CES 2026

Samsung Electronics has announced that it will prioritise governance, privacy, and security as it integrates artificial intelligence (AI) across its products and services, emphasising its goal of making AI a “true companion” for users. The company said its hybrid AI model is designed to keep personal data on-device whenever possible, using cloud intelligence selectively for tasks requiring greater speed or scale — a move aimed at balancing performance with user privacy amid growing global scrutiny of AI technologies.

Speaking at a panel during Samsung’s Tech Forum series at CES 2026, Shin Baik, Head of the AI Platform Center, underscored the importance of predictable and secure AI behaviour across devices, supported by open collaboration with partners such as Google and Microsoft. Samsung also showcased its Knox security platform and Knox Matrix, a cross-device security framework that allows connected products to authenticate and protect one another, reinforcing what Baik described as “security that’s proven, not promised.”

The panel, which included industry experts such as Allie Miller and Zack Kass, explored evolving security needs in an era where intelligence is distributed across phones, TVs, and home appliances. Miller stressed the need for transparency around where AI models run and how data is used, while Kass warned of risks such as misinformation and misuse — adding that countermeasures and technological safeguards will be essential to ensuring trust in AI-driven ecosystems.
