Made like a gun, goes like a bullet!! Here is a short history of the ever favorite ‘Royal Enfield’ (India). The Royal Enfield came to India for serving our Police and Army patrolling purposes. In 1990, they collaborated with the Eicher Group, an automotive company in India, and merged with it in 1994. The Royal Enfield is termed as the ‘oldest global motorcycle brand in continuous production’.

The company faced some difficulties in the 1990 ‘s and they stopped the production by 2002. But, as the demand for the Royal Enfield was gaining strength, a new primary factory was opened in Chennai by 2013. The original factory at Tiruvottiyur became secondary with the production of engines and some motorcycle models. In 2014 Royal Enfield appointed Pierre Terblanche as the head of new product design.
