Reliance Shares in Focus After $3 Billion Green Ammonia Deal
Reliance Industries Ltd shares are likely to remain in focus after the company signed a binding long-term Supply and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Samsung C&T Corporation for the supply of green ammonia. The agreement spans 15 years starting from the second half of FY2029 and is valued at over $3 billion, making it one of the largest global green ammonia off-take deals.
The company said the pact marks a significant milestone in the global energy transition, positioning India as a key exporter of green fuels. Backed by its integrated value chain and aligned with the government’s National Green Hydrogen Mission, Reliance aims to produce and supply green ammonia using domestically manufactured clean-energy equipment.
Led by Mukesh Ambani, Reliance is building a comprehensive New Energy platform that includes renewable energy, energy storage, green hydrogen, and downstream green fuels. The deal with Samsung C&T is expected to be the first of several long-term partnerships, supporting the scale-up of its clean energy ambitions while strengthening India’s manufacturing and industrial ecosystem.
