R.N. Ravi appointed as the Governor of Tamil Nadu
R N Ravi appointed as the Governor of Tamil Nadu. He is currently the Governor of Nagaland. Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit has been transferred to Punjab.
Gurmeet Singh has been appointed Governor of Uttarakhand following the resignation of Baby Rani Maurya. Assam Governor Jagadish Mukhi has been given additional charge of Nagaland.
Ravi, a 1976 batch Kerala cadre IPS officer, retired in 2012 as Special Director, Intelligence Bureau. It was Ravi who negotiated peace with the Naga rebels on behalf of the Central Government and led the settlement. Gurmeet Singh is a retired Deputy Chief of Army Staff.
