PM Modi meets women BJP MPs Today
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has met his party’s female parliamentarians Today. The PM has recently met his party’s OBC MPs, SC and ST MPs, and his party’s MP, who once were ministers, similarly.
The BJP MPs are categorised into seven groups. Each group is separately invited to interact with the PM. The meeting is like an informal interaction. Majorly, the parliament affairs are discussed in the meeting.
Apart from the PM, only Union Home Minister and BJP Chief Amit Shah and Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi take part in the meeting.
In the previous tenure, the PM used to visit the MPs from various states similarly. Then, the MPs were categorised according to their respective states.
There is no doubt that the new method is more effective than the previous one. It encourages more interaction between the MPs from various states. It helps in building more deep bonding between the MPs from various states.
In the present Lok Sabha (that is, the lower house of the parliament or the directly elected house of the parliament), there are at least 78 women parliamentarians. Of these 78 MPs, at least 41 are from the ruling BJP.
It is hoped that the increased interaction between the women MPs will help them to bring the women-centric issues in the forefront of the parliament with greater strength and unity.
