Opinion: The Potential of Political East
Can the political east emerge as an alternative to the political west, which is at present much more organised than the former. It is an important question which needs an urgent attention at this moment.
The developed political west and the not-so-developed political east is the thing of the past. At present, the political east is not as weak as what it was before.
Over the years, certain eastern countries such as China and India have proved wrong the assumptions about the political east.
If the things progress in this direction, some eastern countries may surmount even the United States – the leader of the political west.
Anyway, the present trend is favourable for this reverse. The protectionism of the political west gives impetus to growth of the globalised political east.
What the political east needs at this moment is a multi-lateral political approach, like the one the political west achieved with the European Union and the North American Free Trade Agreement.
What the political east has at present is not that worthy. It fails in various fronts including the front of economics.
The future of the political east hinges on how early the east adopts the aforesaid political approach.
The east has enormous potential.
