Ola Electric S1 X+ Scooter Gets ICAT Approval for Mass Market Launch
Ola Electric has received approval from the International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT), a government-certified testing agency under CMVR, for its mass-market electric scooter S1 X+ (5.2 kWh). The certification marks a key step toward scaling production and introducing the model to a wider consumer base in India’s EV market.
The S1 X+ is equipped with an 11 kW mid-drive motor integrated with an MCU (Microcontroller Unit), enabling a top speed of up to 125 km/h. It is powered by Ola’s in-house 4680 Bharat cell lithium-ion battery, designed for long-range performance, delivering an IDC range of around 320 km. Ola S1 X+

An Ola spokesperson said the certification validates the technology’s readiness for mass deployment, helping the company expand its electric vehicle footprint across India.
