Nupur Sharma threatened, Delhi police file case

BJP leader Nupur Sharma who insulted Prophet Mohammed has booked a case at Delhi Police as she started receiving death threats. The day after, Nupur Sharma had said that she and her family had received death threats.

‘I urge all media outlets and everyone not to make my address public. My family is under threat’ Nupur Sharma tweeted yesterday evening. Following this, the Delhi Police has registered a case.

The party had yesterday suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma for making remarks about the Prophet Muhammad during a televised news debate. In a TV discussion about the Gyanvapi incident, Nupur reportedly said that some things from Islamic scriptures were ridiculed by people. Nupur, meanwhile, alleged that Muslims were mocking the Hindu faith and claiming that the ‘Shiva lingam’ claimed to have been found inside the mosque complex was a stupa used for the fountain.

Earlier, an FIR was registered against them for allegedly inciting religious hatred. The case was based on a complaint filed by Abdul Ghafoor Pathan, a former councilor of the Pune Municipal Corporation and a local NCP leader.
