Mamukkoya, Iconic Malayalam Actor, Dies At 76, Days After Collapsing On Football Field

Mamukkoya, a famous Malayalam actor known for his humorous roles and quick wit in movies with Malabari dialect, has passed away at the age of 76. He collapsed while watching a football match in Malappuram and was taken to a hospital in Kozhikode.

Reports initially stated that his condition was improving, but later, the medical staff disclosed that he was in a serious condition. Unfortunately, he passed away on Wednesday afternoon. Mamukkoya had acted in over 450 films, starting his career in theatre in 1979 before transitioning to films.

He was best known for his comedic performances in movies produced in the 1990s and had a special working relationship with filmmaker Sathyan Anthikkad. Together, they had several successful movies, including Sandesham, Nadodikattu, and Gandhinagar 2nd Street.

His death was condoled by several biggies of the Malayalam industry. Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas and Kunchacko Boban expressed condolences to the family of the legendary actor.
