Malaika Arora says she still gets ‘flashes’ of her accident: ‘It send shivers down my spine’

Malaika Arora, a Bollywood fashionista and TV personality, may have recovered physically from her car accident, but she has yet to come to terms with the incident mentally and emotionally. Malaika was involved in a car accident on the Mumbai-Pune highway on April 2 while returning from a fashion show in Pune. She had a few minor injuries and was told to stay in bed for a few days. Malaika discussed the fateful night in a recent interview.

After the accident, Malaika told Mid-Day that everything was hazy for her until she arrived at the hospital. “I was taken aback. My head hurt, and all I wanted to know was whether or not I was still alive. There was too much blood and commotion to make out what was going on. “I got a huge jolt, and the rest was a blur until I got to the hospital,” she explained.

Despite the fact that Malaika has returned to work, she is still disturbed whenever she sees an accident or bloodshed in a film. “I get flashes that send shivers down my spine,” she explained, adding that she will eventually recover from the traumatic experience.

Malaika had posted about her accident on Instagram a few days after it happened. “The events of the last few days have been quite unbelievable,” she said, adding that thinking about it now feels like a scene from a movie rather than something that actually happened.

“Thankfully, I felt like I was enveloped in the care of so many guardian angels immediately after the accident – be it my staff, the people who helped me get to the hospital, my family who stood by me throughout this ordeal, and the amazing hospital staff,” she continued. At every step, my doctors ensured my safety in the most caring manner possible. They immediately made me feel safe and secure, and I am grateful for that.”
