Majority of children, women in our country are anaemic: new study
A survey conducted by Union health ministry reveals on last day that majority of the children in ten out of fifteen states are suffering from anaemia. It indicates that the disease is rampantly spreading in the country, and this invites more serious intervention from the health department into the issue. The shocking information was collected during the National Health Survey, which was conducted by the Union health ministry. Incidentally, a similar report submitted by the National Family Health Survey informed the Health department that majority of the women in eleven out of fifteen states are suffering from anaemia. In contrary to the reports, the health department claims that the child and maternal health are improving each day. Meanwhile, the survey found that the extra-nutrition is another problem faced by the women. Survey report added that three out of ten women are obese in Goa, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Pondicherry. However, the survey declares that there is a satisfactory improvement in the health of the children and women in the country when comparing with the last year’s survey. The initial section of the survey was conducted in Uttarakhand, Haryana, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Tripura, West Bengal, Pondicherry, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Haryana, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
