Macron’s ally under investigation for financial misconduct
Richard Ferrand, the close ally of French President Emmanuel Macron, is under investigation at this moment in connection with a financial misconduct case.
Mr Ferrand is an important figure in the French politics. He is the closest ally of the French President; he even played an important role during the latest French President Election which saw the triumph of Mr Macron towards the corridor of power in the country.
As the president of the French National Assembly, he is the fourth top political leader in the country.
Mr Ferrand has denied all allegations triggered against him. He has not bothered to explain his point further in this case.
If he is found guilty, he will find his political career ruined forever, as France is always intolerant towards corruption.
The latest development has casted a serious damage to the anti-corruption image the French President has been projecting for years.
It was the bad image of the previous French political leaders which helped Mr Macron to come to power in the country by igniting an anti-establishment sentiment.
The people of France hoped that their new leader would expose the wrong doings of the previous regimes of the country.
In the beginning, the President paid justice to his promise. But, later, he was absorbed by the very establishment against which he was fighting.
