LIC Shares Surge After Strong Quarterly Profit Growth
Shares of India’s state-run insurer Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) rose nearly 5% on Friday after the company posted a 23% jump in quarterly profit. The strong earnings were driven by solid growth in its group insurance business and continued gains from tax cuts introduced last year.
Investors reacted positively to the results, pushing LIC shares sharply higher in early trading. The insurer benefited from improved business performance across segments, while lower tax expenses further supported profitability during the quarter.
LIC, one of India’s largest financial institutions, has been focusing on strengthening its market position since its stock market debut in 2022. Analysts say the latest results reflect steady operational momentum and improving investor confidence in the company’s long-term growth outlook.
