Kohli-Head Clash Sparks Drama After Hyderabad Crush Bengaluru
Tensions boiled over between Virat Kohli and Travis Head during the IPL clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad, with the fiery exchange continuing even after the match. Chasing a massive 256-run target, Kohli and Head were involved in a heated verbal spat on the field, as cameras caught the RCB opener angrily gesturing toward the Australian batter.
Kohli also appeared to mock Hyderabad’s use of the “impact player” rule, signaling for Head to bowl despite the Australian mainly playing as a specialist batter. However, Kohli’s innings ended quickly after scoring 15 runs, while Head later stepped in to bowl and picked up the wicket of Bengaluru captain Rajat Patidar during Hyderabad’s dominant 55-run victory.
The tension lingered after the final ball, as Head extended his hand during the customary post-match handshake line, only for Kohli to walk past without acknowledging him. Despite the defeat, Bengaluru stayed on top of the IPL points table due to a better net run rate, while Hyderabad moved level on points as both teams secured playoff spots.
