Kerala doctor performs last rites for Nipah virus victims
Dr RS Gopakumar the health officer of Kozhikode went beyond his call of duty, he took the responsibility of handling the last rites of the 12 patients who passed away of the Nipah virus.
Close relatives of the demises stay away due to panic of contracting the deadly virus. the doctor had called the authorizes from Ivor Madom to do the funeral rite. The bodies after been kept in ambulance for few hours until the authorities came from Ivor Madom to conduct the funeral rites on the banks of Bharatha Puzha.
