Kerala Cop Breastfeeds Famished Baby, Praised By Police Chief

Anil Kant, the head of the Kerala Police, praised MR Ramya on Monday for nursing a baby who had been taken from his mother.
Civil police officer MR Ramya of the Kozhikode Chevayur Police Station was presented with a certificate of recognition, and she and her family were invited to the police headquarters. The police chief claimed that treating the starving baby with compassion had improved public perception of the police department.

Devan Ramachandran, a judge on the High Court, was moved by her service and thanked her in a letter to the police chief after witnessing her quick action to save the starving child. Additionally, the police chief gave her a certificate from the judge. She is the best representation of the police force, according to the certificate.

The infant’s mother, a 22-year-old lady, reported her child missing to the Chevayur police station on Saturday morning. The infant had been taken away from the mother as a result of a family argument. Police stations along the Wayanad border were alerted after learning that the father might have travelled to Bengaluru with the child while on his way to work. While inspecting vehicles near the border, the Sultan Batheri Police discovered and detained the father who was travelling with the infant.

The police hurried the starving and worn-out infant to a hospital. Doctors discovered that the infant had low blood sugar. Ramya informed the medical staff that she was a nursing mother and that she had been feeding the baby when she arrived at the hospital. The infant and mother were reunited that evening.

The police department hired Ms. Ramya, a Chingapuram, Kozhikode, native, four years ago. She served in the fourth squad of the Armed Police Battalion after completing her training in the second batch of the women’s battalion. After her maternity leave, she started working at the Chevayur police station. Ramya, a mother of two, is married to Ashwant Viswan VR, a teacher.
