Kavya Bali: Carrying India’s Spirit of Unity to Miss Asia
1. You’re carrying India’s name to an international platform. What’s one unique thing about India you wish every contestant at Miss Asia should know?
One of India’s unique qualities is our capacity to remain united despite our differences. There is a sense of unity that brings us all together, even though the language, cuisine, and even customs vary every few miles throughout India, and I would love for every contestant at Miss Asia to carry this message that our diversity is not about division, it’s about embracing inclusivity and celebrating harmony.
2. How has your journey from being the 2nd Runner-up at Miss Queen of India to preparing for Miss Asia shaped your outlook on life?
Being the 2nd Runner-up at Miss Queen of India gave me courage, but more importantly, it gave me perspective. I realized that success is not just about a crown or a title, it’s about the lessons, discipline, and humility you carry forward. As I prepare for Miss Asia, I see life as a continuous journey of evolving, improving, and inspiring others along the way.
3. Many people see the glamour of pageants, but not the behind-the-scenes efforts. What’s one thing about preparation that surprised you the most?
What surprised me the most about pageant preparation is the sheer dedication, discipline, and consistency it demands behind the glamour. Preparing for a pageant is about learning patience, handling pressure gracefully, and believing in yourself every single day.
4. Miss Asia brings together contestants from many countries. How do you plan to build connections beyond competition and create lasting bonds?
I believe Miss Asia is not just a competition, but a celebration of culture and friendship. I plan to build connections by embracing openness, learning about each contestant’s story, and celebrating our differences. By supporting, encouraging, and sharing experiences, I hope to create bonds that go beyond the stage and last a lifetime.
5. Pegasus has given India some of its finest pageants and platforms for women’s empowerment. How do you feel about being part of this legacy, and what does Pegasus mean to you in your journey?
Being part of Pegasus is truly an honor because it represents more than just pageants; it’s a legacy of empowering women to dream big, embrace their individuality, and make an impact. For me, Pegasus has been a guiding platform that has shaped my journey by giving me opportunities to grow, learn, and prepare to represent India with pride on an international stage.
6. Once the pageant is over, how do you plan to use this international exposure in your personal or professional journey?
After the pageant, I want to use this international exposure to inspire young women, build meaningful connections, and create opportunities to make a positive impact in society through empowerment and inclusivity.
7. If you could give one message to the young women watching you, who dream of representing India one day, what would it be?
To every young woman watching, I want to share what helped me – courage and self-belief. There were times I doubted myself, but I chose to keep going. Every practice, every challenge, every small step shaped my journey. My message is simple – Trust your journey, embrace your uniqueness, and know that one day, you too can represent India on an international stage.
