JLR India Slashing Range Rover Prices Following India–UK FTA

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India has announced a massive price reduction for its top-tier, UK-imported models, the Range Rover SV and Range Rover Sport SV. Following the implementation of the India–UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA), the flagship Range Rover SV has seen a price cut of ₹75 lakh, dropping from ₹4.25 crore to ₹3.5 crore (ex-showroom). Similarly, the Range Rover Sport SV has been repriced to ₹2.35 crore from its previous ₹2.75 crore. These revised prices are effective immediately and reflect the new duty structures for completely built units (CBUs) imported directly from Britain.

Rajan Amba, Managing Director of JLR India, stated that the company chose to extend the benefits of the FTA to clients to strengthen long-term relationships and make the aspirational SV portfolio more accessible. In addition to the lower costs, the Range Rover SV will now include SV Ultra Metallic paint options in gloss and satin finishes as standard. This move comes as JLR India continues to grow, despite recent global production challenges, including a major cyberattack and supply constraints that temporarily halted output at its Solihull facility in Britain.

While the UK-imported flagship models benefit from the new trade deal, prices for locally manufactured variants like the Range Rover Evoque and Velar remain unchanged. Furthermore, models such as the Defender and Discovery will not see price reductions, as they are produced in Europe and fall outside the scope of the India–UK FTA framework. JLR, which is a subsidiary of Tata Motors, maintains a diverse global manufacturing footprint with plants in the U.K., China, Slovakia, Brazil, and India.
