Jio Platforms IPO Plans Advance as Reliance Prepares DRHP Filing
Reliance Industries, led by Mukesh Ambani, has reportedly begun preparations for the initial public offering (IPO) of its digital and telecom arm, Jio Platforms. According to Bloomberg, the company may file its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) by the end of March 2026. While the report remains unverified officially, Reliance has already initiated the process by appointing multiple global and domestic investment banks.
Top international institutions such as Morgan Stanley, HSBC Holdings, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, and Goldman Sachs have been roped in as advisors, alongside Indian firms like Kotak Mahindra Capital, Axis Capital, JM Financial, and SBI Capital Markets. The IPO is expected to be one of the largest in India’s history and marks Reliance Group’s first public offering in nearly two decades.
The development comes after regulatory easing by Securities and Exchange Board of India, allowing large companies with valuations above ₹5 lakh crore to dilute as little as 2.5% equity in IPOs. Jio Platforms’ offering is likely to include both fresh issuance and an offer-for-sale, with a larger portion expected from existing investors. The company is targeting a valuation between $130 billion and $170 billion, potentially higher, as it eyes a market debut in early to mid-2026.
