India’s TakeMe2Space to Launch Orbital Computing Satellite
India-based space startup TakeMe2Space is set to launch its MOI-1A satellite aboard SpaceX’s Transporter-18 rideshare mission on October 1. The sub-50 kg satellite carries Nvidia Orin NX processors and is designed to process data in orbit instead of sending large volumes of raw data back to Earth.
The company said it has signed 23 customers for the mission, including geographic information system companies and educational institutions. Its technology is aimed at sectors such as agriculture, mining, supply-chain management and insurance, allowing customers to upload AI models that can analyse data in orbit and send only the results back to Earth.
TakeMe2Space plans to develop larger, networked satellites from 2027 to increase orbital computing capacity and reduce costs. The startup also plans to offer orbital cold storage for critical data, targeting sectors such as financial services and defence. Its earlier technology-demonstration mission in 2024 validated AI processing capabilities in orbit.
