Indian student seeks assistance from the Centre who was shot in Kyiv
Harjot Singh, who was shot multiple times while fleeing Ukraine’s war-torn capital Kyiv last month, has been released from the Army hospital. His condition has stabilised, according to his brother Prabhjot.
“Harjot was released from the hospital the day before yesterday. He is doing well, but it will take some time for him to fully recover “PTI quoted Prabhjot as saying. Harjot’s family has also applied to the government for financial assistance with his treatment.
“Our financial situation is precarious. We are pleading with the Indian government to assist us in my brother’s continued treatment “Prabhjot remarked. On March 7, Harjot was flown back to India on a special Indian Air Force flight.
The 31-year-old Indian student had boarded a cab for the western Ukrainian city of Lviv in an attempt to flee Kyiv amid the fierce Russian military offensive. He was shot four times, one of which hit him in the chest.
