Indian Markets Rise on TCS Boost, End Weekly Run Lower

Indian stock markets gained on Friday as positive TCS results, softer crude prices, and a weaker dollar improved investor sentiment. The Nifty 50 rose 1.02% to 24,206.90, while the Sensex climbed 1.08% to 77,569.39, helping reduce weekly losses to around 0.3%.

The IT sector led the recovery, with the Nifty IT index gaining 2% after TCS reported better-than-expected quarterly revenue and growth in AI-related business. Metals also advanced, supported by global price trends and a weaker dollar, while falling crude prices provided additional market support.

Despite Friday’s gains, Indian benchmarks ended a four-week winning streak amid concerns over rising tensions in the Middle East and crude price volatility. Dr Reddy’s and Trent faced weekly declines, while consumer durables gained strongly, led by Titan’s positive quarterly update.
