Indian Court Orders Apple To Cooperate In Antitrust Probe, Pauses Final Ruling Until July 15

An Indian court has directed Apple Inc to fully cooperate with investigators in an antitrust case concerning the iPhone apps market. The order came after Apple challenged demands from regulators and sought to pause the proceedings while it contests India’s penalty calculation rules.

The Delhi High Court also restrained the Competition Commission of India from issuing a final order in the case until at least July 15, while allowing the investigation to continue. Apple had argued that the regulator was exceeding its authority by seeking detailed financial data needed for potential penalty calculations.

The case stems from a 2024 finding that Apple allegedly abused its dominant position in the iPhone app ecosystem. Apple, which denies wrongdoing, is among several global tech firms facing antitrust scrutiny in India, where its smartphone market share has grown in recent years.
