India Opens 600 Km Expressway In Uttar Pradesh To Boost Connectivity

Narendra Modi inaugurated one of India’s longest expressways, spanning nearly 600 km across Uttar Pradesh, connecting 12 districts. The project is expected to significantly cut travel time between Meerut and Prayagraj, improving regional connectivity and transport efficiency.

Built at a cost of about $4 billion (over 362 billion rupees), the six-lane greenfield corridor was developed by Adani Enterprises and IRB Infrastructure Developers. Named after the Ganga River, the expressway is designed to support faster movement of goods and people across the state.

The government sees the project as a catalyst for industrial growth, tourism, and agricultural development. It is part of India’s broader push to ramp up infrastructure spending post-pandemic, with record allocations aimed at strengthening connectivity and driving economic expansion nationwide.
