In Gujarat Manifesto, Congress Promises To Rename Narendra Modi Stadium

If elected in Gujarat, Congress has pledged to rename Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium to Sardar Patel Stadium. Senior Congress leader and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced the party’s election manifesto for the next Assembly elections.

If the party enters the government, Gehlot stated Congress will adopt the election manifesto as the official document in the very first Cabinet meeting.
Gujarat will hold two rounds of assembly elections on December 1 and 5. Vote tallying will take place on December 8.

The Congress platform states that it will provide 50% reservation for women in government positions and pay a monthly grant of 2,000 to each single woman,  widow and eldery woman in addition to vowing to create 10 lakh jobs in the state for all Gujaratis.

The party also said that the government would open 3,000 English-medium schools and offer free education to girls in the state up till their post-graduation.

Other benefits mentioned in the Congress manifesto include household gas cylinders for 500 rupees, a monthly stipend of 3,000 rupees to each unemployed youth, a remission of farm loans up to 3 lakhs, and 300 units of free electricity.

Mr. Gehlot asserted that if Congress is elected to office, investigations will be ordered into all charges of corruption from the previous 27 years, and anyone found guilty will be booked. He blamed the present BJP-led administration in Gujarat for the widespread corruption.Offering free medical treatment to all Gujaratis up to a maximum of ₹ 10 lakhs and free health checkup and medicines up to ₹ 5 lakhs, Congress has also promised to provide ₹ 4 lakh of COVID compensation in the state.
