Explosion At Firecracker Godown in Madhya Pradesh, 4 Killed, Several Under Debris

After an explosion at a home where firecrackers were stored in a godown in Banmor Nagar in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday, four persons killed and some other people were feared to be buried under the wreckage.
As the godown was overflowing with fireworks in advance of Diwali, seven additional people suffered injuries.

“We are looking into whether the explosion was caused by gunpowder or a gas cylinder explosion. They all have significant burn injuries and are in critical condition “Bakki Kartikeyan, a Morena Collector, stated.

In order to remove the debris, both persons and machines were used. Rajesh Chawla, the inspector general of police, told news agency ANI that police and administrative authorities had arrived at the scene.

A firecracker factory explosion in Batala, Punjab, three years prior to Diwali claimed the lives of more than 20 persons.
