Cockroach Janta Party Intensifies Protest, Awaits Cabinet Reshuffle
India’s youth-led Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has intensified its campaign demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged question paper leaks in the national medical entrance examination. The sit-in protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar has entered its second week, drawing growing support from across the country. Social activist Sonam Wangchuk has also joined the movement, launching a hunger strike to pressure the government into action.
The protests come as reports suggest the central government is considering a cabinet reshuffle, with speculation that Pradhan could be reassigned. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said the group would decide its next steps after the government’s announcement. The party, which rapidly gained millions of followers on social media, says it represents frustrated young Indians affected by unemployment and repeated examination controversies.
The movement has sparked sharp political reactions, with BJP leaders accusing the CJP of undermining the country. The protests have gained momentum amid widespread public anger over exam paper leaks, which forced authorities to cancel and later reconduct the medical entrance test for over two million candidates under heightened security measures.
