Chennai beat Mumbai by 136 runs; 20-run first victory

Chennai Super Kings make up for their loss to Mumbai Indians in the first leg of the season in Dubai. In the first match of the second phase of the 14th season, Chennai beat Mumbai by 20 runs.

Score: Chennai 156 for 6 in 20 overs and Mumbai 136 for 8 in 20 overs. In the first phase, Mumbai won by 4 wickets. Rohit Sharma, who injured his knee during the tour of England, was rested yesterday and was led by Kieron Pollard.

Rituraj Gaikwad, who was unbeaten on 88 off 58 balls with four sixes and nine fours, led Chennai to a one – man stand. The bowlers also gave Chennai the victory with a brilliant performance. Ritu Raja is the Man of the Match.

Mumbai were bowled out for 157 in the third over by Deepak Chahar off Quinton Decock (17). Anmolpreet (16), Suryakumar Yadav (3), Ishant Kishan (11), Kieron Pollard (15) and Krunal Pandya (4) were the other notable contributors. Saurabh Tiwary (50) remained unbeaten. For Chennai, Dwayne Bravo took 3 wickets and Chahar took 2 wickets while Josh Heiselwood and Shardul Thakur took one wicket each.
