Carrying hard copy of driving licence, RC not mandatory now
The tech power is getting revolutionized! Carrying a physical copy of the vehicle’s registration certificate and driving license is not mandatory now as the government has processed digital copies.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) have issued an advisory to all states to acknowledge Driving License, documents and Registration Certificate in electronic form through the DigiLocker or MParivahan policy as its valid under the Moto Vehicles Act 1988 and treat them with par certificates issued by the transport authorities. The impounding of documents will also be reflected electronically through ‘eChallan’ classification.
