Budget Will Take Country Further On Road To ‘Aatma Nirbharta’: Nitin Gadkari

Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, praised the Union Budget on Wednesday, saying it envisioned a wealthy and inclusive India in which all citizens, particularly the young, women, farmers, OBCs, SCs, and STs, would benefit from growth.

The Union Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, delivered the Budget on Wednesday. It is likely that this will be the last one delivered by the BJP-led NDA administration before the general elections of next year. According to Mr. Gadkari, the Budget would improve the energy sector and reduce imports while moving the nation closer to “Aatma Nirbharta” (self-reliance). It will also provide the nation with modern infrastructure.

The budget highlighted the following as the “Saptarishi,” or the seven objectives or emphasis areas, for the government: inclusive development, reaching the last mile, infrastructure and investment, unleashing the potential, green growth, youth power, and the finance sector.

“Janbhagidari (public involvement) through ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayaas’ is essential. Our vision for the ‘Amrit Kaal’ includes a tech-driven and knowledge-based economy, with strong public finances and a robust financial sector,” Mr Gadkari said.

He continued by saying that since 2014, the government’s efforts have improved everyone’s quality of life.

Over the past nine years, the economy has grown from the tenth to the fifth largest in the world, with a per capita income that has doubled to 1.97 lakh.
