BJP to field defected MLAs in By-Election

The Bharatya Janata Party have decided to give seats to all the defected MLAs, who switched side to the Saffron camp from the Congress-JD(S) camp paving the way for the triumph of the rightist towards the seat of power of the Indian state of Karnataka, despite opposition from its own members.

BJP leader and Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has confirmed the party’s decision to field the defected MLAs in the party tickets in the upcoming By-Election.

He said that the central leadership had approved the decision to field the defected MLAs in the upcoming By-Election.

He has acknowledged the fact that some have expressed their dissatisfaction in the decision to give the party tickets to the defected MLAs in the upcoming By-Election.

The Karnataka CM has urged his party members to work for the candidates who have been selected by the party leadership for the crucial By-Election.

Actually, the defection of the Congress and JD(S) MLAs paved the way for the triumph of the BJP leader towards the seat of power of the state.

At present, the BJP survives with a flimsy margin. In that sense, the upcoming By-Election is of great importance.

The BJP is now a very powerful party in the state. In a normal condition, it can easily win all the seats in the By-Election. Anyway, whether the dissatisfaction of a section of the BJP leader will affect the election remains unclear at this juncture.
