Ashok Leyland Hits Record Q4 Profit on Strong CV Demand
Ashok Leyland reported its highest-ever quarterly profit for the January–March quarter, driven by strong demand for commercial vehicles and record export volumes. The company posted a standalone profit of ₹14.05 billion, up 13% compared to the same period last year.
Revenue from operations jumped 19% to a record ₹141.6 billion, supported by continued momentum in India’s auto sector after recent tax cuts. The company also saw significant growth in its power solutions, aftermarket, and electric mobility businesses.
However, rising input costs remain a concern for the industry. Ashok Leyland’s expenses climbed sharply due to higher raw material costs linked to the ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict. Rival Tata Motors had also recently warned about near-term margin pressures despite reporting strong earnings.
