Against All Odds, He Completed It: Ajit Ravi’s 100 Life Challenge

In a rare and heartfelt demonstration of social commitment, Ajit Ravi has completed his ambitious “100 Life Challenge,” donating 80% of his 8-hour salary for 100 consecutive months to charitable causes. What began in 2015, while he was working at Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) — as an initiative to fund life-saving heart surgeries soon evolved into a broader mission, supporting people in need across various sectors, including medical care, education, and other essential services.
Even during challenging times — including professional hurdles at work and the financial uncertainties of the COVID-19 pandemic — Ajit remained unwavering in his commitment. There was a period when he didn’t receive any salary at all due to job-related circumstances, yet he still ensured that an equivalent amount was donated to continue the mission. His determination to keep giving despite setbacks is a powerful example of consistency, selflessness, and purpose-driven living.
Guided by the philosophy of “Individual Social Responsibility (ISR),” a term he coined to promote personal action in social welfare, Ajit launched the challenge with the hope that others would be inspired to join him. “I truly believed someone would accept this challenge — but no one ever did. That still hurts,” he admitted. In an era where, as he says, “social service is often done for publicity or personal gain,” his journey is a reminder that genuine charity needs no spotlight — only heart.
